Day #4 – Earliest Childhood Memory

So, today is about my earliest childhood memory. The longer I think and try and see if what that was, I have come to the conclusion it is my first holiday when I was 3. There may be something before then, but I remember most of this like it was yesterday! We went to Florida. My parents actually got married out there during this holiday. So it was just them, my brother and myself. They were never into the big wedding thing, so they chose a more intimate and romantic place to get married.

There are so many different random memories that I remember from this trip. One of them was when we visited one of the theme parks (I’m pretty sure it was Disney World). Was far as I can remember, this was late at night as well because I remember it being/getting dark. I remember we were watching the Disney parade, and I was in my pushchair (I was a very lazy child), and I had one of those fan type styled things where, when you turned them, it would light up and spin. I was mesmerised by it! I also remember being so nervous going up to the characters in the park to ask for signatures in my little book I carried around with me (and I am certain I still have that book stored away somewhere).

Another memory I had was on my parents wedding day I believe, just before it was time for them to get married, I went on a walk with my mum and brother with my dad. I remember there was a little river around the hotel, and you could take a swan peddle boat around it which we did. I also remember getting stopped by some women (my mum was with me) and apparently they were gushing over how cute I was. They weren’t English either which me looking back at it makes me laugh.

Although I can’t remember the actual moment my parents got married, I will always remember these moments. We have some photos around the house and it looks lovely. Just us, and no one else to worry about. It meant a lot to my parents how they did it and I will always look back at it with a smile.
