So I recently got treated to a spa day and afternoon tea as an early birthday present by my mum! I have been wanting to have a spa day and to enjoy an afternoon tea for a while now and it finally happened!
We visited the Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells (have a look at the bottom of the page for links to the website!), and both me and mum had a full body massage! Situated in 14 acres of picturesque grounds on the edge of Royal Tunbridge Wells and let me tell you, visiting this place in Autumn was such a good choice because the views were stunning! Keep reading to see the views we saw!
Now, this was my first time having a massage so I was so nervous but so excited!
The whole experience was so relaxing. There were essential oils giving the place such a relaxing smell. They play soothing music to fill your hears and to make you as relaxed as possible. You can close your eyes and just feel your muscles start to relax. During the massage, you can feel the masseuse focusing on certain spots a lot more than others, which is where you are more tense. For me, that was mainly my lower back and my thighs but once the knots were gone, I felt so much better!

If you are looking for a massage of any type, i do genuinely suggest checking this place out! They offer a wide variety of choices from 6 different type of facials, 13 types of massages and 3 types of manicure/pedicures. So you could definitely find something that would suit you! They even offer packages like afternoon tea and spa treatment, 2 course light lunch and spa treatment, and an overnight spa package which I would love to do one day!
So if you are wanting a massage but are nervous to do a full body one, they do offer just a back, neck and shoulder massage to start you off!

Taking a walk around the inside of the building was so lovely because everywhere looks absolutely gorgeous. And there are windows giving you amazing views of outside showing the beautiful autumn colours. Everywhere looks so picturesque!

After we had finished with the massages that were so incredibly relaxing, we had some time spare until we were having our afternoon tea, so we took a stroll around the grounds. I fell in love with the area surrounding this place! I am an absolute lover of the outdoors, especially when it is topped off with such beautiful trees and colours! There were plenty of arches and gazebos around as well as they do hold weddings in this place so of course they have so many beautiful spots for photos or to hold the ceremony.

After enjoying the lovely walk around the hotel grounds, we made our way back inside because it was time to enjoy our afternoon tea! This was another first for me as well so i pushed myself to try everything on the menu!
Spa Hotel offer two different types of afternoon tea. One is a standard option and the other is with a glass of champagne, which is the one I got treated to! They had such a variety of different teas as well. My mum enjoyed her English Breakfast Tea. In the end I didn’t have a tea with mine because of the champagne but my mum happily had that one as well!

Soon enough we had the selection of different sandwiches come out and they all looked delicious! The 4 different types were; Salmon and Cream Cheese, Ham Salad (with tomato and lettuce), Coronation Chicken, and Egg Mayonnaise. Trying the salmon one for the first time was very interesting and I actually liked it! I loved all of them! (I did have to pick the tomato out of the ham salad one because i just can’ stand the texture of it! Sorry!)

Once we had made our way through the delicious sandwiches, they cleared the table and then brought forward the cakes! They had a variety of little cakes to choose from which we devoured into all of them of course! We had a selection of plain and fruit scones, strawberry tart, raspberry cake (can’t remember what it was called) with an almond biscuit base and finally and coffee cake with nuts on top. The presentation of it all was definitely stunning!

I absolutely loved this place and enjoyed the whole day. The staff were incredibly friendly and I would definitely go again and I have even started to look into spending a night there and take advantage of all of the facilities there.
I would definitely recommend checking the place out if you are looking for the perfect relaxation day!
Let me know how you like to relax!
